Motion Capture
Motion Graphics Course Description
The motion graphics course using Adobe After Effects introduces students to the art of creating dynamic, visually engaging animations for video, social media, and digital storytelling. In this course, students learn how to animate text, shapes, logos, and visual elements using keyframes, effects, and transitions to bring their designs to life. They explore essential principles of motion such as timing, easing, composition, and visual rhythm while gaining hands-on experience with After Effects' powerful tools. By the end of the course, students will be able to produce professional-quality motion graphics pieces, intros, and visual sequences that enhance any video production—building a strong foundation for careers in animation, advertising, content creation, and digital media.
Body and face motion graphics using Metahumans allow creators to produce incredibly realistic digital characters that move, speak, and express emotion just like real people.
Semester A
By capturing facial expressions, body movements, and gestures, students can animate Metahuman characters with lifelike precision inside Unreal Engine. This technology bridges the gap between animation and live performance, giving students the power to bring digital actors to life for films, games, music videos, and immersive experiences. The process teaches essential skills in character rigging, performance capture, and animation workflows—skills used across today’s top studios.
Semester B
Using Metahumans also introduces students to the future of storytelling and digital media. With detailed facial controls, advanced skin textures, and natural human motion, Metahumans offer a professional-level toolset that empowers young creators to build cinematic scenes without expensive equipment or large crews. Students learn how to integrate their captured performances with virtual environments, camera movements, sound, and visual effects, resulting in polished digital productions. This skillset prepares them for rising careers in virtual production, VR/AR development, game design, animation, and beyond—giving them a competitive edge in a rapidly evolving digital world.
